I was born in Cambridge, Mass while my father was in Boston University Theological Seminary, he went on to persue a career as a United Methodist Minister and while retired, he does contiune pastoral duties as requested from time to time, both at the need of his local Church or at the request of persons requesting his pastoral care.
I was raised in the United Methodist Church tradition, although I was originally Baptized in the Presbyterian Church, while my father briefly separated from active Pastoring of Churches. I do not recall a time when I did not know there was a God, and as a Christian, that he manifest in the flesh as His Son Jesus Christ, and I believe fully in the orthodox teachings of the Christian Church/Tradition generally, although as an adult came to an embrace of Orthodox Christianity (as in Eastern, Greek/Russian Orthodoxy) through a long, winding journey that I may detail at another time.
I have participated in many of the Protestant Tradition(s)/Congregations, including what are loosely termed Charismatic/Pentecostal Churches, as well as various forms/schools of Baptist, Methodist, and Calvinist Traditions. I was deeply involved in the Episcopal Church and was even participating in training and consideration for Holy Orders in The Order of St Luke and the Episcopal Diaconate. I fought a long internal battle over the election of the first openly Gay Bishop Gene Robinson in 2003 - 2004 and finally left the Church just prior to his installation. I have nothing 'against' homosexuals as people or as children of God, but I believe they should not be considered as candidates for any Holy Orders, or in any position of authority in the Christian Church.
As I mature, I seek God mainly in my private thoughts, prayers and reading(s) and I'm presently without Congregation, though I've seriously considered entering the Orthodox Tradition formally with a local Congregation.
I seek greater understanding and common ground with fellow Christians, and would also welcome an opportunity to Ecumenical study with Jewish people of various Traditions, and I believe we are very closely related spiritually - and should be more open with each other, and embrace/respect each other fully.
I believe in fully knowing one's enemy - in all his guises, and by all his works. I believe that Lucifer/Satan - however your tradition/faith teaches you to acknowledge his presence is alive and functioning, with a will to absolutely corrupt God's creation, and specifically mankind ... that he IS the force behind The New Age Movement and The New World Order - that there are many 'secular' forces at work, but that the energy for destruction in a pretty package is his work in this world. I believe this fully, with every fiber of my being, and 25 years of research has only served to strengthen that belief.
However we may differ in life experience, religious faith/belief - and what conclusions we may draw from our separate studies and life experience, I think we are ALL very concerned about the influence of The New Age Movement, it's origins and true purpose, and the influence on world government, and the education of our children/grandchildren and the implications for all mankind.
As we journey separately and together, I thought it valuable to know a bit about me, my personal beliefs/convictions, to help with perspective on my thoughts as I share them here.
Yours Always,
Rob
